Dear Family and Friends,

Pre-Paris, our vision of our retirement years was that timeshares in Lake Tahoe and San Francisco probably offered all the fun and adventure that we would ever need. Which is how we come to have the pressure of unused, expiring timeshare weeks to deal with. This year, we searched and searched for a timeshare exchange in Europe: accessible by train from Paris; positive reviews; in a pretty area with lots of things to see and do; in a town, so we can get around by public transportation. The winner: Bad Gastein, Austria.

Pageant: the annual competition for Best Baguette.

I see a brochure about an international flower show in Nantes.  We've never been to Nantes, over to the west, near the Atlantic, so this is a good excuse for a day trip by train.  Click here

Clair and Tiffany's 2014 Adventures - #1 Nice and Cinque Terre

We've packed our bags, checked off our lists, handed the keys to our home to our trusty property manager Trudy Brown and once again flown off to France. After a few days resting and getting reacquainted with Nice, we defied the odds and made all our train connections, rolling into Riomaggiore pretty much at the time our Airbnb hostess was expecting us.
